Zelda Groom's Cake

Oh my goodness. If anyone ever asks you to be in their wedding, and then to make the groom's cake, only say yes to one. Talk about stressed!!

But it got done!! The groom designed it and I brought it to life! I think he was very happy with it. When he saw it he whipped out his phone, started playing a dub-step version of the Zelda theme song and danced!! It was too funny!

I had a lot of set backs with this cake. Mostly with the sword. Everything else went just as planned but the stinking sword just would not work. But I eventually figured it out. Unfortunately, by the time I did figure it out, I did not have the time to add the detail that I wanted. I barley had time to get my dress and get to rehearsal (where I passed it along to someone who brought it to the wedding.)

Other than the sword I was very happy with how it turned out.

My favorite part of the whole cake!!
It is hard to see in these pics but the rock looked great! It had a grey and black marble effect going on and was lumpy and uneven. I was very happy with how it turned out. I will try to get better pictures from others. The lights were out when I got to sneak down and snap a few pictures so the light is coming from the window behind it. Not great for pictures.

The cake was confetti cake (the groom's favorite), with a butter cream icing (with sprinkles of course). The shield is a brownie covered in butter cream and fondant. The Sword is rice crispie treats with butter cream and fondant.
